Compton Dance Theatre Foundation: Programming News

CDT Partnership Workshop - August 13, 2008

Arts Cadre Coordinators from local school districts may submit reservation requests for the Arts Learning Plan "Choreography: The Art of Dance Making" & "Dancing With The Stars In Your Classroom".

These comprehensive dance workshops and performance presentations include ballet and modern dance technique classes that are provided twice per week over the course of 6-8 weeks.

Professional Development and Collaborative Planning Meetings are required to ensure cross-curricula and standards based connections results are successful. Lesson plans and other necessary learning materials are provided.

Programming is available all year: Monday - Friday 8:00am -3:00pm.

Adult & Youth Dance Programs - April 5, 2007

Open classes are available at $12 per session plus the cost of annual registration and insurance fees. This program is recommended for those who want to participate in "at will" recreational dance programming.

City of Lynwood Dance Program - September 20, 2006

Residents of the City of Lynwood that are between the ages 6-18 are eligible to participate in after-school programming at no-cost upon the completion of a successful audition. Currently, there is a waiting list for this program.

Community Service & Outreach - September 5, 2006

Students on the high school level have an opportunity to earn community service hours that would count as credit toward graduation by participating in outreach performance programs that target senior citizens, and mental and physically challenged individuals as the main viewing audience. Students may also earn credit by working as a dance teaching assistant or providing administrative support.
